# nomotype — Brand & Product Guide

> Single source of truth for anyone (human or LLM) creating nomotype content: social, ads, video, blogs, and free materials. This Markdown mirrors the live guide at `/brand-guide`. Colors and fonts in the app render from the product theme, so treat the values here as canonical and re-export when the brand changes.

- Brand name: **nomotype** (always lowercase, even at the start of a sentence)
- Category: Personality & self-growth
- Format: 64 questions, ~10 minutes, instant results
- Model: Free core result + paid advanced report

---

## Overview

nomotype is a free, science-informed 16-type personality test that turns self-insight into action, with an optional advanced report and a growing toolkit for focus and growth.

---

## Positioning — what we stand for

Four pillars. If a piece of content doesn't ladder up to one of these, rethink it.

1. **Insight, not labels** — We give people language for who they already are. The type is a mirror and a starting point, never a box.
2. **Science-informed, plain-spoken** — 64 balanced questions across four dichotomies. We explain the method openly and skip the mysticism.
3. **Growth you can act on** — Every result leads somewhere: strengths to lean on, blind spots to watch, and tools to build better habits.
4. **Free to start, generous by default** — The core result is always free. The upgrade adds depth and tools, never unlocks your basic identity.

---

## Voice & tone

Warm, sharp, and human. Like a perceptive friend who happens to know the research — never a therapist, never a horoscope.

Tone words: Warm · Curious · Plain-spoken · Encouraging · Honest · Playful, not silly.

**Do**
- Speak to the reader as "you"
- Use short, confident sentences
- Explain the why in plain language
- Celebrate every type equally
- Keep the brand name lowercase: nomotype

**Don't**
- Diagnose, label, or pathologize
- Promise clinical or medical outcomes
- Use fear, shame, or FOMO to convert
- Rank types as better or worse
- Lean on jargon or mysticism

---

## Logo

The nomotype wordmark is always lowercase, set in **MuseoModerno Medium (500)**, paired with the arched monogram.

**Do**
- Keep clear space of at least the monogram's width around the logo
- Use purple, ink, or reversed white only
- Keep it lowercase everywhere

**Don't**
- Recolor with off-brand hues or gradients
- Stretch, rotate, or add drop shadows
- Capitalize, re-space, or swap the font

---

## Color

Purple leads. Everything else is a supporting accent. Values are canonical in oklch with a closest-hex fallback for design tools.

| Token | Role | oklch | Hex (approx) |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Primary / Brand purple | Primary brand, CTAs, links | `oklch(0.55 0.2 293)` | `#7c3aed` |
| Periwinkle | Secondary accent | `oklch(0.7 0.13 268)` | `#8ba0f0` |
| Coral | Alert / warm accent | `oklch(0.72 0.16 24)` | `#f2795a` |
| Sage | Positive / calm accent | `oklch(0.75 0.09 155)` | `#84c4a0` |
| Heading ink | Headings (soft black, purple undertone) | `oklch(0.22 0.045 296)` | `#211a2e` |
| Foreground | Body text | `oklch(0.26 0.03 300)` | `#2b2536` |
| Background | Page background | `oklch(0.98 0.006 300)` | `#f9f8fb` |

## Typography

Three typefaces, each with one job. Never introduce a fourth.

- **Logo only** — MuseoModerno, Medium 500 (the wordmark only)
- **Headings** — Bricolage Grotesque, 600, tight tracking (`-0.02em`), heading-ink color
- **Body & UI** — Inter, 400–600

---

## Audience

Three core personas. Match the hook to the person — the same feature sells differently to each.

1. **The Self-Explorer (18–34)** — Curious about personality content, follows creators, shares results. Wants something deeper than a buzzfeed quiz but not clinical. *Hook: lead with identity, relatability, and shareability.*
2. **The Growth-Seeker (25–45)** — Into self-improvement, productivity, and habits. Already tried other tests; wants tools and next steps, not just a label. *Hook: lead with the growth plan, dashboard tools, and the advanced report.*
3. **The Neurodivergent Optimizer (18–40)** — Manages focus and energy intentionally; interested in ADHD-friendly and focus tooling. Values honesty and no medical overpromising. *Hook: lead with focus tools and honest, non-clinical framing.*

---

## Messaging — taglines & hooks

Approved taglines:
- Meet yourself.
- Know your type. Grow from it.
- The personality test that actually goes somewhere.
- 16 types. One you. Free to find out.
- Self-insight, minus the mysticism.

**Value stack for ads:** Free · No sign-up · Instant results · 64 research-backed questions · Made for growth, not labels.

Keep sentences short, lead with the reader, and always make the free result the easy first step.

---

## Channels — content playbook

All content ends on the same CTA: **take the free test.**

**Short-form video (TikTok / Reels / Shorts)**
- "Each type as a..." format (roommate, coworker, texter)
- Screen-record a real result reveal, react to the summary
- "Two types trying to plan a trip" skits
- POV: your type in a group project

**Static / carousel ads (Meta, Pinterest)**
- Result card mockups as the hero image
- "Which one are you?" 16-type grid
- Dichotomy spectrum visual with one dot placed
- Free + instant + no sign-up as the value stack

**Blog / SEO**
- One deep article per type (16 evergreen posts)
- "[Type] careers / relationships / strengths" clusters
- "MBTI vs Big Five" and methodology explainers
- Type + productivity / focus / ADHD angle pieces

**Free materials (lead magnets)**
- Printable type one-pagers
- "Growth plan" worksheet per family
- Type-pairing compatibility chart
- Phone/desktop wallpapers per type

---

## Promotion — current offer

**Use code `NOMO2026`** — a discount on the yearly advanced plan, applied after sign-up.

Copy must state that it applies to the yearly plan, requires an account, and note any expiry. Never imply the free result is behind the code.

---

## Guardrails — non-negotiables

Legal and brand-safety rules that apply to every asset, everywhere.

- **Not medical or psychological advice.** Never claim to diagnose, treat, or cure anything — including ADHD. Position tools as personal insight and growth only.
- **Trademarks.** "Myers-Briggs" and "MBTI" are trademarks of their owners. nomotype is independent and not affiliated or endorsed. Describe our test as "based on the 16-type framework."
- **Email marketing** must honor consent and include unsubscribe + a physical address (CAN-SPAM / CASL / GDPR).
- **Honest pricing.** Show honest pricing and promo terms — no fake urgency or inflated "original" prices.
- **Privacy.** Link to the privacy policy and data-rights tools wherever data is collected.
